William Padgett

William Hoyt Padgett age 91 is in the care of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home
Hoyt was born September 5, 1926 in Etowah, Tennessee to Sherman Padgett
and Mary Shadden. A member of West Village Christian Church and a veteran of
World War II serving in the United States Army. After the Army Hoyt was
general manager of Brunner's Food Store for 48 years, and after
retirement was employed with Kroger for more than 10 years as a store
greeter. He enjoyed many things during his life and his favorite was his garden
growing flowers and fruits and vegetables. Hoyt was preceded in death by his wife
of 64 years Zena lee Padgett. He is survived by his Son, Greg Padgett and fianc'e
Kathy Russell. Granddaughter, Ashlee Crawford and husband Josh of Clinton, TN,
Tori Scarbrough of Knoxville, TN, Jessie Padgett and boyfriend D'antae of
Knoxville, TN. Great Grandchildren, Johnathan Cox, J.T. Crawford, Kenslie and
Ryland, and many Nieces and nephews. Jane Mathes of Knoxville, TN and Bill
Padgett of Alcoa, TN.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday May 4, 2018 at West Village
Christian Church 637 Robertsville Road Oak Ridge, TN. Funeral service will be
11:00 AM May 5, 2018 at West Village Christian Church with Rev. Lloyd Johnson
officiating. Graveside service will be at 12:30 PM following the funeral service at
Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton, TN. Online messages may be left for
