Sadie Stewart Griggs passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.
She was born in Oak Ridge on April 23, 1956, to Jack and Verdis Stewart, who preceded her in death, as did her husband Andy Griggs, also of Oak Ridge, and her dear aunt Sadie Dupree, of Clinton.
She is survived by her son, Steve Hayes, and granddaughter, Violet Hayes, of Texas, as well as her daughter, Denise Hayes Davies, and grandsons, Dominic O'Neal, Derrick Hayes, and Jack Davies, of Knoxville. Sadie also leaves behind her loving sibling: Linda Stewart; Ronnie Stewart and wife, Norma, and children, Katie, Jess, Scott, Keith, Ronda; and Eddie Stewart, of Oak Ridge, wife Bekki, and children, Jessica and Katie; and several nieces and nephews.
Sadie attended Oak Ridge High School. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Hwy.
