Robert James "Sarge" Brown 84 of Oak Ridge passed away at his home on October 24, 2014 surrounded by his closest family and friends Formerly of Harriman Tn. Robert was born January 16, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eleanor and Eugene Brown.
"Sarge" wanted to give one last shout out to all his buddies, friends and acquaintances at the Throttle Down Daycare and the Dayshift crew... Robert was of the Roman Catholic faith: He was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Robert made a lifetime career serving over 30 years in the United States Army. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars before retiring in 1970. Robert was a wonderful Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather who will be missed terribly. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Brown, Parents Eugene and Eleanor Brown, his sisters Claire Erikson and Dorothy Shrekengost and son-in-law Brian Morgan.
Robert is survived by his daughters Debbie Morgan and Lisa Beason of Oak Ridge, son Bobby Gilmore of Harrriman, brother Jack (Kathleen) Brown of Wisconsin granddaughters Kristen Gilmore and Kassy Brown (Randall Beason) of Harriman. Great Grandchildren Makayla Gilmore, Madison Brown, Brianna Brown and Malikah Gilmore Special family and friends, The Throttle Down Daycare and Dayshift crew, Dave Loose, Big Bob, Rolo, Betty and Gary. Many thanks to the nursing staff at Methodist Medical Center on the fifth floor
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday October 29, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:00pm with a service at 7:00 in the chapel of the Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home Burial will be Thursday at 1:30 pm at the Veterans Cemetery Lions View in Knoxville, Tn.
