Raymond Popp

Raymond A. Popp is in the care of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Raymond passed away January 23, 2020 at the age of 89 at Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born November 23, 1930 to Clarence and Loretta Popp in Northport, Michigan. Raymond earned his PhD in Embryology from the University of Michigan where he met his wife Diana. For 40 years, Raymond and Diana were researchers at the Biology Division of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory where Raymond authored over 100 research publications. He also served as Dean of the ORNL-UTK Graduate School. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Raymond is survived by his wife Diana, a daughter and 3 sons, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 6 siblings. Expressions of love and respect may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of choice in honor of Raymond's life.
