Nellie Beatrice Prater

Nellie "Bea" Prater was born on August 9, 1933 in Knoxville, TN to the late John and Anna-Bell Baxter. She passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. She was a long-time member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell, TN.

Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, James "Jim" Prater.

Bea is survived by her children: Teresa Prater of Sandia Park, New Mexico and Jimmy (Robin) Prater of Clinton, TN; grandchildren: Nichole Sise, Allison (Michael) Jones, and Andrew "Bo" Prater; great-grandchildren: Sophia Sise, Trinity Rucker, Isabell Sise, Caroline Jones, and Emerson Jones; great-great grandchildren: Carter Sise and Aaralyn Sise.

The family will hold a private graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
