Mary Marshall

Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mary Juanita Marshall (97) of Oak Ridge, TN. Mary passed away on February 24, 2019 at Brookdale Oak Ridge Senior Living. She was born in Tomnolen, MS to parents Lester McGovern and Lucy Moss McGovern.

Mary Marshall received her Bachelor's degree in Botany from Mississippi State College for Women. She worked as a chemist then stayed home to raise four wonderful daughters. Mary was a proud member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and served in various ministries within the parish. Her hobbies included gardening, authoring, and avid reading.

Mary Juanita Marshall is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lucy McGovern, husband Edward Marshall, brothers James, Joe, Robert, Billy, Earnest, and sisters Catherine, Dolores, Nancy.
Mary is survived by four daughters, Susan Vance (husband Paul) of Oak Ridge, TN, Becky Amerson (husband Kirk) of Charleston, SC, Mary Catherine Marshall of Orlando, FL, Anne Sams (husband Michael) of Columbia, TN.
Mary is survived by five grandchildren, Matt Amerson, Kelley Amerson Cotton (Justin), Peter Vance, Erin Staub Rudolph (Matt), Tim Vance.
Mary is survived by five great grandchildren, Caroline and Aly Cotton, James Premo, Wyatt Vance, and Lorelie Rudolph.

Visitation services Mary Juanita Marshall will be at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary service to follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Also, on Thursday February 28, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St Mary's Catholic Church followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. A lunch reception after the Mass will be held in Columbus Hall of St. Mary's Church. Interment will be take place at 2:30 pm at the Anderson Memorial Gardens. 640 Oliver Springs Hwy, Clinton, TN with Rev. Brent Shelton officating the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale ak Ridge Senior Living for the love and care given to their mother the year she lived in the community. The family thanks Brookdale Oak Ridge Senior Living, Methodist Medical Center, and Caris for the care given to their Mom during her final illness.
