Mary Sue Sharp Jenkins, age 72, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday September 3, 2015at Methodist Medical Center.
Mary was born November 29, 1942 in Lake City to the late Dester and Mossie Cox Sharp. She was of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. Mary loved spending time with her family and friends picnicking in the Smoky Mountains, gardening, and crafting. For many years Mary kept children in her home and had a great love for all of them.
Mary is survived by her three children Susie Thevenard of Oak Ridge, Carman Alig and her husband John of Oak Ridge, and Jimmy Jenkins and his wife Helen of Oak Ridge, grandchildren Dylan Thevenard, Sebastian and Wesley Alig, and Emily Jenkins, sister Reba Monday of Clinton, brothers Edward Sharp of Lake City and Jimmy Sharp and his wife Jenny, and special nephew Donnie Knight. The family would like to express their love and thanks to two special friends of Mary Joyce Napier and Norman Holland for the love and care given to their mother over the past years.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday September 8, 2015 2:00pm at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
