Maria Horvath

Maria Magdolna Horvath went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2020. She was born in Kiskunhalas, Hungary to her parents Geza Laszlo and Maria Osztrovszki. Maria was Catholic by faith. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking Hungarian meals, loving cats, and spending time with family. Maria got her Bachelor of Arts in Geology in Budapest, Hungary and was very proud of this achievement. She married her husband Dr. Tibor Horvath in Vienna, Austria. Maria was very proud of her husband's distinguished medical career. They fled Hungary to Yugoslavia as refugees during the Hungarian Communist Revolution, making it to the United States in 1958. While in the United States, Maria lived in Cleveland, Ohio, where they had their twin sons, before moving to Michigan and then Tennessee around 2006. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Tibor Horvath, her parents, Geza and Maria Laszlo, and her son, Tibor Horvath, Jr. She is survived by her son, Steve Horvath (Kristi Trotter) and beloved granddaughter, Veronica Horvath.
