Lois Hodge

Lois Irene Hodge, age 97, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Monday,
March 11, 2019.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 15, 2019, with burial following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Scott Payne will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Martin Funeral Home, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Sevier County, Tennessee, on September 11, 1921. She loved growing up along with her siblings, nieces and nephews, and other friends in Wears Valley in Sevier County, Tennessee. She attended Sevier County High School.
Irene Hodge was married to Ben Edley Hodge in February of 1942 and were married 59 years. She and Ben came to Oak Ridge when there were security gates at all entrances to Oak Ridge and Government ID badges were required.
Mrs. Hodge worked as a film technician for Maxima Corporation in Oak Ridge for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking for family and gardening activities. Also, she loved baby-sitting and cooking for her grand-dog grey hounds Ella, Randy, Libby, and Andy.
Mrs. Hodge is survived by her two sons, Larry Hodge and his wife Karen of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Michael Hodge and his wife Betsy of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, one granddaughter, Whitney Koval and her husband Joey, of Charleston, South Carolina, and three great grand-children Josie Gray, Ansley, and Mason of Charleston, South Carolina, grandson Chris Hopson, Knoxville, Tennessee, sister, Helen Suttles of Greenwood, Indiana, nieces Lisa Howell and her husband Bill of Morganton, Indiana, and Marla DeJaeger and her husband Mike of Fountain Town, Indiana, and grand-nephews Adam Howell and his wife Natalie of Trafalgar, Indiana, and Brent Howell and his wife Leslie of Morganton, Indiana.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Ben Edley Hodge, her parents James Myers and Virgie Myers, and two brothers Wayne Myers and James Myers.
