Kaye Mayo Carlton

Kaye Mayo Carlton, 85, passed away peacefully, July 21, 2025, at her home in Oak Ridge, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 19, 1940, in Dayton, Tennessee, to Carolyn Lucille Jewell of Chattanooga. Kaye married her high school sweetheart, Elbert, and they enjoyed a happy 65-year marriage that included four children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

After raising her family, she had a catering business for many years and went on to graduate from Roane State Community College. She then worked for the Y-12 Federal Credit Union in Oak Ridge until her retirement.

She loved quilting and was an avid University of Tennessee sports fan.

She was predeceased by their daughter, Shannon.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons, Jim of Oak Ridge, TN; Brent (Christy) of Mansfield, TX; Brian (Donna) of Clinton, TN; seven grandchildren, Steven, Alyssa, Nolan, Trevor, Andrew, Jordyn, and Lauren; and seven great-grandchildren.
