November 29, 1941 — August 6, 2021

Joyce Ann Quick

Joyce Ann Quick, born 11/29/1941, passed unexpectedly on August 6, 2021. She was a member of Kern United Methodist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Joyce was a marine veteran, former K-25 worker and Y-12 NSC retiree. After retiring Joyce worked at various elder care facilities in the area. She had a loving passion not only for the elderly but also for animals. She could name and describe all of the pets she mothered since she was a child... and there were many! The neighborhood kids, along with her own, gathered (back in the early years making snow forts) on Alder Lane. Joyce led those spirited architectural masterpieces which actually graced the pages of the Oak Ridger newspaper one year! Her gift of arts and crafts, drawing, tea parties, song leading and her humor followed her through the years. She had such a loving heart and through all adversities she maintained her smile and laughter.

Joyce is proceeded in death by her parents, Hubert and Nell Smith and her son Matthew Quick. She is survived by her son Michael Quick, her special and devoted daughter-in-law Vickie and her grandsons Isaac and Elias Quick. Her extended family includes Ed and Joyce Disney; Donny and Samantha Townsend; Eric, Holly and Cooper Williams; Bethany Newport, special childhood friend Amelia Brown and her many cherished and beloved friends from Kern Church.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Tommy and all of Joyce's caregivers at Patriot Hills Assisted Living.

Joyce's light will be painfully missed. A private remembrance will be held by the immediate family.
