Jesse Allen Hamlett 76 if Claxton passed away October 13, 2016 He was born September 21, 1940 in Leeksville, NC to Jesse and Bertha Mae Hamlett.
Allen was a veteran of the United States Army and was a truck driver for over 50 years, driving for Monterey Mushroom and Tom's Foods. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his mother Bertha Mae Hamlett of Eden, NC; his wife Barbara Sue Hamlett of Claxton; children Barbara Ann Hamlett of Knoxville; Kathy Parton and husband Dennis of Knoxville; grandchildren Austin Parton and wife Callie; and Allison Parton; brothers Martin Hamlett of Eden, NC; and Robert Hamlett and wife Shirley of Oak Ridge, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home October 18, 2016 with a funeral service to follow at 7PM with the Rev. Clarence Byrd officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN
