Harry J. Evans, of Oak Ridge, TN passed peacefully at his residence on May 11, 2026, surrounded by his supportive and loving family and care team.
Harry was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle J. Hampton; his father, Carl W. Evans; his brother, Hardy Glenn; and his sister, Billie Jean.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Tamela Evans of Oliver Springs and Debra Evans of Solway.
He is also survived by his grandsons, William Shannon III (Brooke), Robert Shannon (Dalena) and Evan Reichenbach, as well as his granddaughter, Christine Powell (Saul and son Landry). Harry also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Kynsley Evana, Axton Jhett, and Huntley Grace.
Harry was an upstanding man who loved his family first and foremost. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as golfing and being part of the community he cared so deeply about. Through his dedicated service at Y-12 National Security Complex, he proudly supported the Oak Ridge community for many years.
He was a man of honor, dignity, few words, exceptional kindness, musical and artistic talent, and unwavering devotion. His steady presence and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We were blessed by his love for 87 years. May his honor and faith continue to guide us through life without his physical presence.
The family will have a visitation at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 16, 2026 that is open to family and friends.
