Diane Lepsig

April 2, 1943 — November 18, 2018

Diane Mary Lepsig 75, of Harriman died at home on Sunday, November 18. She was under the care of Covenant Hospice and assisted in passing by her sister, Emily. Diane was born 4-2-43 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of Cyril and Mary Vanooitghem, both deceased.
She was educated at St Matthew's grade school, Dominican High School where she won state honors for debating. Wayne State University where she majored in political science and was awarded a Woodrow Wilson Scholarship to the University of Michigan where she received a master's degree in labor relations. While at Wayne State University she was president of the student government body and was selected to visit the White House to meet President Nixon. She received her law degree with honors from Detroit College of Law.
Diane was employed for 39 years by the Federal National Labor Relations Board as an attorney supervisor.
Her greatest interests were being a resolution maker, helping family, grandchildren and friends reading and quilting. Diane was a member of several quilting groups including groups in Kingston, TN and LaBelle, FL where she and her husband wintered for the past 15 years.
Diane is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Lepsig, her children Stephanie Waldschlager and her husband, Brian; her son Michael: her sister Emily Hollenberg and her husband, Paul and three grandchildren: Rowan Hamilton, Kierra Hamlton and Aidan Hamilton.
Diane was a member of St. Mary's church in Oak Ridge where a funeral Mass will be held Monday November 26, 2018 at 10:30am. Family and friends are encouraged to come to the church prior to the funeral for a viewing and farewell. Cremation will follow after the funeral.

The family wishes to thank the many people who have supported them by prayers, calls and gifts. Diane was cared for by Staff of Amedisys, Silver Angels and Covenant Hospice. The family recognizes the special care given by Dr. Robert Wilson, Dr. Hasamm Garavvi and staff of the Tennessee Cancer Specialists and Dr. Shannon Seiri of the Cool Springs Cancer Center.
