Caryl Ann (Lerner) Milton

OAK RIDGE — Caryl Ann (Lerner) Milton, 81, of Oak Ridge, passed away on April 2, 2026. She was born July 12, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late William and Sarah Lerner.

Caryl moved to Annandale, Virginia, in 1977 to begin her government career. In 1986, she relocated to Oak Ridge, where she worked for the Department of Energy and later the National Nuclear Security Administration until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, she volunteered at Methodist Medical Center as well as the American Museum of Science and Energy.

She is survived by her son, Darrell Wayne Milton, and his wife, Norma Milton, of El Paso, Texas; three granddaughters, Tyler Perez (Felipe Perez), Megan Milton, and Bailey Milton (Justin Dolney); and her avian daughter, Tipper.

Caryl was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Lerner, and her sister, Beverly Sleph.

Graveside service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026 at 2:30pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
