Bertha Wright

Bertha Tipton Wright of Oliver Springs passed away with peace and grace on Thursday, February 15, 2018 two days before her 93rd birthday. She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard and cooking and canning for her growing family. She was a member of Dyllis Baptist Church and The Order of The Eastern Star for over 50 years. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was showing love to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Claude D. Tipton and more recent husband, James S. Wright. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Grayson (G.W.) and Claude D. Tipton Jr. (Denny), grandson jerry Simmerly and son-in-law Gary Rose.

She is survived by three children: daughters Bonnie Morrow (Rick) and Marie Rose all of Kingston, son Dillard Tipton (Beverly) of Cleveland, TN and daughter-in-law Wanda Tipton of Maryville, TN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Monday February 19, 2018 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 and service following at 12:00 with Robert May officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN.
