Barbara Louise Shirley

Barbara Louise (Moore) Shirley, 78, passed away on August 2, 2025 at Vanderbilt Hospital from Kidney failure.

Born in Houston, TX, June 18, 1947, Barbara married David Shirley on February 14,1969. They adopted Leigh Ann as an infant in 1981. They moved to Oak Ridge around 1988. Barbara and David divorced in 1991. Leigh Ann Knight was later raised by her aunt and her husband, Brenda (Shirley) and Larry Knight.

She was preceded in death by her father James Moore, mother Macy Elizabeth (Stunkle) Moore, brother James Diven and ex-husband David Shirely.

Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a great testimony that she would share with everyone. She was a very talented artist creating paintings that were sold by Healing Arts Project Inc (healingartsprojectinc.org). She often created 3D paintings using various natural materials like sea shells and broken glass.

Barbara’s greats love in life was her dear dog Tilly who filled her days with love, companionship and joy. Her other love of her life, dear dog Robbie passed away in 2011.

A grave side service will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 10:00am.
