Ashlen Harris Wooden passed away peacefully on July the 5th, unexpectedly. Ashlen was born in Hendersonville, TN on October 28th, 1984, but later the family moved to Oak Ridge, TN in 1988. Ashlen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and granddaughter who was “grown up” even when she was little and caring for others. She attended Oak Ridge High School and was a long-time beloved employee of Walmart in Oak Ridge for 24 years.
She leaves behind four lovely children, Malaki Fowler, Kyra Fowler, Ka’lil Wooden, and Sylas Wooden. She also leaves behind a loving mother, Kelly Harris of Oak Ridge, TN, brother A.J. Harris (Bobbie), niece and nephews, Zeke, Zoe, and Zane Harris and many treasured family members, co-workers, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Alan Harris, and her son Ja’ Kai Wooden and grandparents, Robert and Irene Hayes, and Shirley Harris, all of Oak Ridge, TN. She was known as a loving mother and a caring daughter who went above and beyond always putting others before herself.
A service of remembrance will be at the New York Ave church of Christ, in Oak Ridge, on Saturday the 12th of July. Gathering of friends will begin at 4:00pm with a service to follow at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, there is a fund established for “Ashlen’s children” for the children’s needs and care. If you wish to donate, please contact Karl Flatau at the Edward Jones office located in Oak Ridge, TN.
