Amanda Newton

September 30, 1978 — December 8, 2020

Amanda Lea Newton was born September 30, 1978 in Westchester, PA to Mark and Wanda Gritton. They settled in the Minneapolis area in time for Amanda to graduate high school and go on to receive her degree from the University of Minnesota. She eventually moved to Southlake, Texas and met her husband of over 10 years, Butch Newton. Amanda and Butch traveled extensively and had many adventures in places like Key West, Big Bend, Padre Island, the Smoky Mountains, Chicago, Costa Rica, Mexico and Alaska. After a successful career in real estate Amanda's deep love for animals led her to the veterinary field where she did countless hours of good work helping those that could not help themselves. Her unyielding trait of selflessness and putting all others before herself enamored her to everyone and every creature she encountered. In 2015 Amanda and Butch moved from Texas to the beauty of east Tennessee. They bought a home amongst the tall trees and lived a full life of hiking, camping and just spending time together in the mountains she loved dearly. Amanda was a beautiful extroverted soul who lived life to the fullest and gave all she had to those she loved. Amanda passed on to the next plane peacefully in her sleep on December 7th, 2020. She is survived by her husband, parents, brother Todd and his wife Hanna, her nephew Will and her dog Ophelia. A memorial will be held at a future date in Kentucky, a place she spent many summers of her childhood amongst the horses and animals of the bluegrass fields.
