Alma Williams

On Monday, October 14, 2019, Alma "Corinne" Williams, of Oak Ridge, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord. Corinne, age 86, was born on May 4, 1933 in Carroll County, Tennessee to Benjamin and Flossie Williams. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1951. She worked at Ridge Travel, Sebastian's Travel, ORTEC, managed properties in Knoxville, Kingsport, trained at IBM sponsored business school in Atlanta graduating top in her class. Corinne worked as an executive administrative assistant at AMOCO Fabrics and Fibers in Atlanta, retiring after many years, then returned to Knoxville as the resident manager at St. Mary's Villas in Halls. Corinne was an accomplished seamstress.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Flossie Williams. She is survived by her children Judy Katharine Bowers Easton (Peter), Jan Bowers Paynter, Danny Bowers (Patty), and David Bowers (Andrea); grandchildren Jennifer Howard Potter, Joseph Paynter, Miriam Paynter, Daniel Bowers, Christina Bowers, Christopher Boyd, Andrew Arndts, Danielle McNeill, Michelle Bowers Van Cleef; sisters Frieda Scott (Don), Sylvia Williams Coffman (Ben), and brother Don Williams (Liz).
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2019 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with service to follow at 7:30 p.m. , Pastor Stephen Gooch officiating.
